As cited, the selection is truly based on the organisation’s extraordinary performances over the last year, effective governance and commitment to promote livelihoods of small and marginalised farmers.
The NSPDT trust has promoted so far 14,000 women poultry producers in 27 poultry producers organizations (cooperative &Producers company) in MP, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Assam, and Odisha.
All the women producers are from traditionally deprived communities, having hadly any means to earn their livelihoods.
Collectively, in the FY 2019-20, they reported sales of INR 528 crores. This is an unique model, making commercial poultry possible for rural poor.
The trust is working with a mission : To promote and advance smallholder poultry as an instrument of bettering lives and livelihoods of rural families.
